Irish engineering services provider H&MV Engineering has opened an office in Frankfurt on 14 March 2025. The company specialises in the design and construction of high-voltage systems, data centre infrastructure and renewable energy projects. H&MV Engineering is concentrating its activities on the European mainland in the new Frankfurt office and will drive its global expansion from here. Over the next two years, H&MV plans to create 130 new jobs in Germany.
The move was supported by FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH International Marketing of the Region (FRM GmbH) in close cooperation with Frankfurt Economic Development.
H&MV Engineering was established in Ireland in 1997 and has grown to become a leading company in the design, engineering and construction of high voltage systems. The company currently employs around 1,300 people worldwide and has offices in London, Glasgow, Oslo, Denmark, Croatia, Madrid, Hosur and Bangalore. H&MV has moved into a 1,000 square metre office in Frankfurt, where the company will continue to grow in response to increased demand. The new location gives the company access to specialist staff in Germany and across the EU. This in turn will enable H&MV to offer innovative data centre and renewable energy solutions to the entire European market.
Declan Wynne, Managing Director Europe at H&MV Engineering, on the reasons for the opening of an office in Frankfurt: “The opening of our Frankfurt office marks a significant milestone for H&MV Engineering as we continue our expansion across Europe. With Frankfurt being a major hub for industry and innovation, this new location allows us to strengthen our presence in Germany and better serve our clients with world-class engineering solutions. We are excited to build strong partnerships, support the energy transition, and invest in the next generation of engineers. This is a landmark achievement in the next phase of growth for the business, and an exciting development for H&MV Engineering journey in Germany.”
Since March 2023, FRM GmbH has been supporting H&MV Engineering at every stage of the relocation process in close coordination with the Frankfurt Economic Development Agency, providing the company with market information and helping it to make contact with appropriate networks.
“Our region is a perfect location for highly innovative companies. We are centrally located and have excellent links with Germany, the European Union and the rest of the world. In addition to these factors, our region has a strong international character and a highly educated, English-speaking workforce. And these location advantages are getting around, which means that we can score points in the intense competition between locations - as is the case with H&MV," says Eric Menges, President & CEO FRM GmbH.
