The company intends to further expand its presence on the European market from its new office. The move was supported by FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH International Marketing of the Region (FRM GmbH) in close cooperation with the Frankfurt Economic Development Agency.
Mike Josef, Lord Mayor of the City of Frankfurt am Main and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of FRM GmbH: “Our region moves the world: as an international trade fair location, as an international transport hub and with innovative ideas. People and goods travel from Frankfurt RheinMain to Europe and the whole world. We offer a stable transport and logistics network, and the talents of tomorrow are trained at our colleges and universities. But we are more than just an international logistics centre; our region offers a high quality of life, is cosmopolitan and English-speaking. These are location advantages that convinced the global logistics company Trailer Bridge to open its first European office here in Frankfurt am Main.”
Malcolm McLean, also known in the logistics industry as the “father of containerization”, founded Trailer Bridge in 1991. In 1997, the logistics expert moved the company's headquarters to Jacksonville, Florida. Trailer Bridge offers its customers transport and logistics solutions, including the shipping of vehicles, the transport of containers and intermodal solutions. According to the company, it is committed to innovative logistics solutions and environmentally friendly transport methods. The Jacksonville Business Journal recognised Tailer Bridge as one of the best employers in Jacksonville in 2016.
‘We are very excited to begin operations in the Frankfurt RheinMain region. This move allows us to be closer to our European partners and customers while expanding our global logistics services. The first-class talent we have found in Frankfurt is the ideal starting point for our growth in the European market. As a central hub in Europe, Frankfurt offers unrivalled connectivity in the region and a robust transport and logistics network to support our growth and goal of serving our customers around the world,’ said Mitch Luciano, CEO Trailer Bridge.
In addition to administration, the Frankfurt site will also act as a logistics hub to better serve the complex requirements of European customers.
“Frankfurt RheinMain as a logistics centre is clearly the focus of international logistics companies. Specialist logistics companies such as Trailer Bridge have their European branches here, and the close integration of airport, rail, road and water makes it possible to network and simplify complex transport systems. Last but not least, the English language skills in the region make Frankfurt Rhine-Main the ideal hub for companies targeting the German and European markets,” says Eric Menges, President & CEO of FrankfurtRheinMain GmbH International Marketing of the Region.
FRM GmbH accompanied the first steps of the Tailor Bridge branch. The USA team acted as a point of contact for the company and provided support in co-operation with the City of Frankfurt's business development department.
