The Yondr Group, a US-based developer, owner, operator and service provider of data centers, is realising its own data center project in the district of Groß-Gerau and is building a 40-megawatt facility in Bischofsheim. The ground-breaking ceremony for the project was 28.02.2023. According to Yondr, the data center should be ready for operation by the first quarter of 2024. The FRM GmbH supported the Yondr Group.
According to Yondr Group, the Bischofsheim facility is part of the company's rapidly growing global data center offering. The growing cloud opportunities and increasing capacity needs of international companies based in Frankfurt RheinMain, with its proximity to Frankfurt, make Bischofsheim a strategic location and an essential part of Yondr's global expansion plans.
"In recent years, there has been an imprinted expansion in Frankfurt RheinMain due to the increased demand for cloud capacity. Our new 40-megawatt data center will significantly support the growth of our customers," said Pete Jones, chief development officer and founder of Yondr Group.
Yondr Group was supported by FRM GmbH during the relocation process. The experts from the USA team of the international location marketing company coordinated the real estate selection process in close consultation with the company and the region and established contact with suitable service providers.
"Our US team has been in close contact with Yondr Group since 2020. With this relocation, our region is further expanding its role as a leading European location in the field of data center and data management. We already have around 60 data center using the outstanding telecommunications and internet infrastructure on site," said Eric Menges, President & CEO of FRM GmbH.
